EN: Jelena Brkic is a mother of two boys and lives near Belgrade. The family dream was to have a better future for their children, what brought them to Stuttgart. This dream did not fulfill, in 2016 the family had to leave Germany. Today Jelena is a trusted Mother Center grassroots activist and change maker in Serbia. Jelena brought back hope into her Roma community, by sharing her idea of a Mother Center and inviting others to add value and take part of this dream. Creating space was the basis of mobilization, encouraging and developing a caring community together. People flower up in the Mother Center Aurora Mine. They develop as an individual and they grow as a group. They build up community ties on a horizontal level; they get into dialogue with local authorities and institutions.

DE: Jelena Brkic ist Mutter von zwei Jungen und lebt in der Nähe von Belgrad. Der Traum der Familie war es, eine bessere Zukunft für ihre Kinder zu haben, was sie nach Stuttgart brachte. Dieser Traum erfüllte sich nicht, 2016 musste die Familie Deutschland verlassen. Heute ist Jelena Brkic eine vertrauenswürdige Basisaktivistin des Mutterzentrums und Wegbereiterin des Wandels in Serbien. Jelena brachte wieder Hoffnung in ihre Roma-Gemeinschaft, indem sie ihre Idee eines Mutterzentrums teilte und andere dazu einlud, einen Mehrwert zu schaffen und an diesem Traum teilzunehmen. Die Schaffung von Raum war die Grundlage für die Mobilisierung, Ermutigung und Entwicklung einer fürsorglichen Gemeinschaft. Im Mutterzentrum Aurora Mine blühen Menschen auf. Sie entwickeln sich als Individuum und wachsen als Gruppe. Sie bauen auf horizontaler Ebene Gemeinschaftsbande auf; sie treten in Dialog mit lokalen Behörden und Institutionen.
