Preserving cultural heritage in art and culture is not just a matter of museums. Everyday culture has many facets and is connected to the people who are living it.
The main goal of the project is to find out, what kind of regional or national cultural treasures are worth preserving and giving to younger people for the future, how we and our Danube neighbours maintain the selected cultural assets, how we pass them on, what changes and transformations they have undergone in the course of history.
The CODANEC project aims to make visible the knowledge and skills of older people from the Danube countries, who contribute to the preservation of material and immaterial cultural assets. At the same time, the project is intended to build a bridge to the younger generation, who will contribute with their own ideas on the subject of cultural assets.
Through intergenerational cooperation and the exchange of groups from different Danube countries, the interaction with traditions, customs and values is to be shaped in a new way. The project is scheduled to run for two years and started in autumn 2019.
The online-conference and the partner meeting “Sharing beyond borders” are taking place within the framework of CODANEC Project and are supported by the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg. The results of the CODANEC video- photo- and text competitions will be announced at the social evening on the 11th of July 2020, that is part of the online-partner meeting “Sharing beyond borders”.
